Sonrise reaches out in the local community in various ways through-out the year, but we believe in committed support of local organizations that do an outstanding and vital work in the Fort Wayne community. We continually look for ways that God may be leading us as a church to come alongside of local ministries, so if you have information you would like us to review, you may send it by email to Ken Boyd.
Currently, we are involved in several local outreaches including:
Every second Saturday of the month, Brendan Arnold leads a team from Sonrise Church to work at the Helping Hands Distribution of Community Harvest Food Bank. The team serves from 7:30 until 10:30 and prepares donated food for distribution to over 1,000 families.

Join one of our teams led by John Drake to help serve a meal at the Rescue Mission. A team normally consists of four persons and they serve a weekly evening meal from 4:30 to 5:30.

Sonrise is excited to participate in the local ministry of NeighborLink. NeighborLink provides assistance to people in need – from simple assistance to more skilled needs. What we love about NeighborLink is that it is designed to build relationships with our community. Jesus taught over and over again about loving people and building relationships and we are excited that we get to do that in many ways, including with NeighborLink.

If you have the time and talent for small repair projets you can contact Dave Smith at 260-249-8445. Dave works on repair projects during the week and can get you connected.

Project 216
Each year Sonrise Church provides over 20,000 meal packets for distribution locally and internationally through Project 216, a Fort Wayne based ministry, that engages local congregations in actively packaging the meals.
